Apex: operational intelligence, beneath your business

Apex is an ongoing software partnership for established businesses: one team that keeps your systems, data and AI improving every month, measured against numbers we agree up front. It runs from $15K a month and starts with a $9,000 + GST Rapid Insight Workshop.

Most change stalls because everyone who understands the work is too busy doing it.

Why the roadmap keeps losing to the day job

The plan is rarely the problem. Someone owns it alongside their real job, it slips a quarter, priorities move, and eighteen months later nothing has shipped. Meanwhile the process nobody defends keeps running and the system three people hate stays in place. Apex makes that work our job: we sit inside your operation without sitting inside its politics, so decisions get made and the next fix ships every month.

What an Apex partnership works on

Custom platforms, automation, integration and AI agents, aimed at the systems below. None of them are ever finished. Each one keeps changing as the business does, which is why the work is monthly rather than a project with an end date.

Enterprise integration
Enterprise integration

The connected stack, and the clearest case for a monthly arrangement: a connection is never done. Vendors change their APIs, you buy another system, volumes outgrow what the first build assumed.

ERP integration

The system of record for money and stock. Under a retainer the connections around it are watched and updated, rather than failing for three weeks before anyone notices.

CRM integration

Sales sees stock and pricing without asking. Which system is right about a customer changes as you grow, so that mapping gets revisited rather than set once.

Stock with a location instead of a number, and directed picking. Layouts, carriers and pick paths keep moving, so the system has to move with them.

Sales and operations planning
Sales and operations planning

One agreed number for what you will sell and make. The planning cycle runs every month, and so does the work keeping the numbers behind it trustworthy.

Maintenance management
Maintenance management

What you own, what it has cost and what is due next. An asset register is only worth having while somebody keeps it honest.

View
Quality management
Quality management

Checks, non-conformances and corrective actions captured at the point of work. Standards change most years, and the system follows them.

Field service management

Scheduling, dispatch and capture on site, including an app that still works with no signal. Crews, territories and job types shift constantly.

Workflow automation

The manual steps between systems. We take the worst one, then the next, a backlog that suits a monthly roadmap better than a single quote.

AI agents

Repetitive jobs like invoicing, compliance checks and forecasting, handed to an agent bound to your rules. Each one gets tuned as the work changes.

How an Apex partnership starts and runs

A workshop, then a roadmap you own, before anyone talks about a retainer.

Rapid Insight Workshop, $9,000 + GST

Two sessions that map your systems, costs and friction points, delivered in about three weeks. You leave with a prioritised roadmap and a research and insights pack, whether or not you go on to Apex.

Establish: one workstream, early wins

We set the goals and numbers we will report against, then pick the one workstream that pays back fastest. Foundations first, so the first months prove the model before the work goes broader.

Monthly delivery, quarterly direction

A dedicated lead runs the work with our specialists behind them. You get a monthly meeting, a review every six months, a live view of progress in our project platform, and maintenance of everything we build. As results land, more workstreams run in parallel and the roadmap is reset each quarter.

What it changes on the ground

Cost out first, hours back second, new revenue once the foundation can carry it. The results a roadmap is measured against, by the kind of operation you run.

Recall a batch in minutes

Food and beverage

One record from intake to dispatch, so a recall or a retailer audit is a search, not a week of paperwork.

Delivery dates you can keep

Manufacturing

Live capacity on the floor means fewer late changes, less overtime and less rework.

Every site, one live picture

Logistics

Stock with a location and carriers on one screen, so every depot works from the same numbers and customers stop ringing for updates.

Numbers finance trusts

Energy

Live figures from every system and compliance reports that build themselves, on a platform that grows with your assets.

Software spend you stop paying

Cost

Systems you have outgrown and tools that duplicate each other get replaced, and that licence money comes back to the business.

Hours back each week

Operations

The manual steps between systems go one by one, starting with the one that costs most.

What an Apex partnership costs

Apex reserves dedicated capacity for your business, sized to your budget. Your monthly investment sets how much of the roadmap we take on.

Questions about an Apex partnership

A set amount of roadmap work from a dedicated lead and our specialists, a monthly meeting with your key people, a live view of what the team is working on, and maintenance of everything we have built. Every six months we step back, check results against the numbers we agreed and recalibrate.

To your budget, from $15,000 a month. For most clients that lands near 1% of revenue. A bigger monthly investment means more of the roadmap runs in parallel, not a different service.

Ignite proves one idea with a fixed-price prototype at $25K to $50K. Amplify builds one defined product at a fixed price, usually from $100K. Apex is for a business with a backlog of improvements that keeps changing, where the work never really ends.

Transformation rarely fails on the strategy. It fails on the calendar, because the roadmap competes with the day job and loses. Apex is a standing commitment with named people and monthly reporting, so the work moves whether or not this quarter is busy.

Only if they help shape it, so they do. We sit with the people doing the work before anything is designed and release one piece at a time, so nobody learns five new screens at once. Adoption is one of the numbers we report on each month.

It should not. Each release runs alongside the old way until the numbers match, then we switch over at a quiet point you choose. Nothing goes live in the middle of a shift, a stocktake or month end, and there is always a way back.

You do: the code, the repository, the data and the IP, whether the partnership runs six months or five years. Our own data platform is the exception. It stays ours, deployed during the partnership and licensable if you want to keep it afterwards.

For a steady load of one kind of work, hiring can be right. A senior developer in Adelaide earns a median of about $130,000, roughly $180,000 a year once super, leave and overheads are added, and hiring one can take months. One hire is one skill set, while Apex brings architecture, analysis, design and development.

When you have one defined thing to build, buy an Amplify project and keep your money. Apex also does not suit a business that cannot free up a decision-maker to agree a roadmap and act on it. And if your numbers are trusted and there is little manual rework, there is not enough friction to pay for. We would rather say that in the first meeting.
